Villa Umaki-Ha is a up-scale, private, oceanfront villa with whispers of the local Mayan Culture .The word Umaki-Ha means "man of the sea" when translated into english. This villa is named after my son Saylor, who is blessed with a very handsome and infectious smile, a heart and spirit that has no end and the vision to see the sun shining in a storm. Villa Umaki-Ha is decorated in soft earthtones, hardwoods and stone Imagine the privacy of this luxury ocean front home in combination with all the services and amemities of a 5 Star hotel. Villa Umaki-Ha is one of 3 luxury villas and large Event Palapa w/ on site Chef/Spa Services on the Private Estate of Hacienda del Secreto. Hacienda del Secreto is a Private Estate consisting of 3 luxury oceanfront villas and our event palapa. Inviting, crystal clear Caribbean waters and powder white sand fringe Playa del Secreto, the most beautiful beach along the Riviera Maya. The beach stretches over a mile along the blue ocean, with only a dozen upscale homes dotted along the water's edge. Wild mangrove and freshwater pools attract beautiful birds, and healthy reef is home to spectacular tropical Caribbean sea life.
The tranquil beach is just 20 minutes from Cancun and 15 minutes from Playa del Carmen, making it the perfect central point for exploring Mexico's attractions - Mayan ruins, world class diving, sports fishing and more. Playa del Secreto means "Secret Beach" in Spanish, and a secret is what this beautiful residential community remains. This is a private community of homeowners, committed to preserving Playa del Secreto as a peaceful, tranquil, private location by controlling growth and development of the beach.
Hacienda del Secreto is the jewel of Playa del Secreto. Memorable, relaxing vacations can be spent in these luxury ocean front homes...
Dear Miss Doy,
I have been unable to get to the site to write my comments so will send to you. It was a pleasure meeting you those first couple days we arrived at Playa Del Secreto and I kept thinking I wanted to chat with you about storms and or hurricanes you all have experienced as well as see some photos Maurico said you had. I am so fascinated with weather but the days just kept slipping by to quickly. Your Villas and our stay in Casa Umaki Ha was superior and we had every comfort we could want and then some. One.....and there were many highlights was witnessing an enormous sea turtle laying her eggs right in front of the villas. Within the next couple of days I counted well over twenty some nests up the beach. So with that in mind I am in the process of making plans with Megan Ralston to return to del secreto for another weeks stay in the hopes that I can see some of these eggs hatch. This time I will do the meal plan as the breakfasts that were included in our stay was delicious. All the staff did a superb job with housekeeping and grounds. But most of all I want to let you know how much we appreciated Mauricio. He is the greatest and made sure we were well taken care of. We felt well cared for and completely at ease and safe at the Playa Del Secreto and Cancun area. It is my hope to visit you when we return on September 3rd to hear some storm stories and if not......another time. Can't wait to get back as I'm finalizing plans today.
My best to you,
Pattie Watson

We have a large immediate family of 5 children and spouses, and 13 grandchildren (and now one grandson spouse). In July 2010, 22 and sometimes 24 of this immediate family attended a granddaughter's wedding in the Cancun area and spent a great week at the Casa Del Secreto Resort. The resort is on the ocean waterfront with very good security. We were housed in 3 different but adjacent buildings in the complex which offered an excellent combination of privacy and togetherness in the common areas. We had 2 full kitchens, living /dining areas, and 9 bedrooms (2 palacial suites with outstanding ocean views) with private baths as well as access to the common area of the Palapa Jack building. The Resort offered a wide variety of outdoor and indoor activities which provided something of interest to everyone including the teenagers and young adults. We were able to prepare meals if we wished, had excellent maid service and enjoyed 2 exceptionally good dinners in the Palapa Jack facility prepared by the Resort staff for our group. The employees were courteous and friendly and went out of their way to satisfy our wishes and needs. It was a great week for our family!

p.s. I think we ordered guacamole every day from the kitchen...it was sooooo good!
Thank you so much for everything… especially Mauricio, Julio, Chef Ricardo and the main Security Guard. As the overall planner for this trip, I had several balls in the air and had to deal with most of the issues that arose. The staff made it so much easier to address the issues and to trouble shoot problems. And a special thank you to Doy, the best manager/owner that I’ve ever dealt with when renting villas or staying at a resort!

This is a magical place with many activities and a kind and helpful staff. it is Mexico at it's finest. the fear stirred up by international press is totally unfounded in this area of the Yucatan. there is no fear of the swine flu. the area has a warm welcome feeling that draws you in to doing more activities in the surrounding area. you will be sure to enjoy the beautiful exotic jungle environment and the crystal clear Caribbean water. the staff, on request, will prepare fabulous gourmet meals. it is a secure and peaceful haven that we encourage you to visit.
